A RESOLUTION APPROVING A LETTER AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF CANTON AND JOHN L. STANKO
WHEREAS, misunderstandings can occur when matters are not fully articulated
in an employment situation, and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton desires to avoid any misunderstandings insofar as
employment terms are concerned with all employees and especially department heads; and,
WHEREAS, John L. Stanko is the newly named fire chief for the City of Canton
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Canton
Fulton County,. Illinois that the general terms of his employment are set forth in the Letter
Agreement hereto attached and made a part hereof.
That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage
by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the
Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a
regular meeting this 20th day of April, 1999, upon a roll call vote as follows:

Shores.
NAYS: Ncme.

Letter Agreement
dated Apri120, 1999
between the City of Canton and Fire Chief John Stanko
The above-referenced parties agree to the following:
• Chief Stanko's annual salary will be $51,000 effective May 1, 1999
• Supervisory responsibilities over the City's ESDA.
• Rotary Membership will be paid by the City.
• Clothing allowance of $600 per year.
• Medical Insurance premium paid 100% by the City.
• Indemnity Agreement approved by resolution to the City Council April 20, 1999.
• Base Pay Rate increase the last 35 days of employment by resolution to the City
Council Apri120, 1999.
