RESOLUTION NO. 3458
A RESOLUTION TO ALLOW THE CITY OF CANTON TO REMOVE AND
RECONSTRUCT RAISED BARRIER CONCRETE MEDIANS AT THE NORTH
AND EAST INTERSECTION OF LOCUST STREET AND MAIN STREET,
CANTON, ILLINOIS AND UNDER THE JURISDICTION AND CONTROL OF
THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Canton located in the County of Fulton, State of Illinois,
wishes to remove and reconstruct the existing raised barrier concrete medians at the North
and East legs of the intersection of Locust Street and Main Street in the City of Canton,
which by law, comes under the jurisdiction and control of the Department of Transportion
of the State of Illinois, and,
WHEREAS, a permit from said Department is required before said work can be
legally undertaken by said City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That we do hereby request from the the Department of Transportation, State of
Illinois, a permit authorizing the City of Canton to proceed with the work herein
described.
2. That we hereby pledge the good faith of the City of Canton and guarantee that all
work shall be performed in accordance with the condition of the permit to be granted by
the Department of Transportation, State of Illinois, and to hold the State of Illinois,
Department of Transportation harmless, on account of any damage that may occur to
persons or property, during the prosecution of such work, and assume all liability for
damage to persons or property, due to accidents or otherwise, by reason of the work
which is to be performed under the provisions of said permit.
3. That we hereby state that the proposed work is to be performed by the employees
of the City of Canton.
4. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by
the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor
thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a
regular meeting this 6th day of April, 1999, upon a roll call vote as follows:

NAYS: None .
ABSENT: ~~rmen Shores , Hartford.
