HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution #3553RESOLUTION NO. 3553 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF CANTON TO APPLY FOR SUPPLEMENTAL UNITED STATES E.P.A. GRANT FUNDS TO CONTINUE THE BROWNFIELDS INITIATIVE AT THE FORMER I.H.C. SITE IN CANTON WHEREAS, the City of Canton has heretofore received assistance from the United States Environmental Protection Agency concerning the former IHC plant site in the City of Canton., and WHEREAS, additional funds may be available to the extent of $150,000 in a Supplemental Grant from the EPA as well as the possibility of $50,000.00 from the Green Space Provision regarding said Brownfields project in the city, and, WHEREAS, the City of Canton would greatly benefit from the acquisition of said funds or either of them, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Council of the City of Canton, Illinois that the staff of the city be and is hereby authorized to apply for said funds to further the Brownfield Initiative at the site of the former LH.C. plant. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a regular meeting this 19th, day of December 2000 upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Alder Hartford, Sarff, Phillips, Nidiffer, Meade, Shores, May .
