RESOLUTION NO. 3548
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RETENTION OF PROFESSIONAL
ENGINEERING SERVICES AND SEEKING BIDS FOR A PROPOSED WATER
TRANSMISSION MAIN FROM CANTON LAKE TO THE CITY
WHEREAS the City of Canton has determined that in order to supply its residents
and other contractual entities with potable water it needs to install a new main
transmission line from the city water supply at Lake Canton to the city, and,
WHEREAS it is necessary that the city advertise for bids for said project, and,
WHEREAS it is essential that the city retain professional engineering services for
said project; and,
WHEREAS the engineering firm of Maurer-Stutz has submitted a proposal for said
services which basically provides for preliminary services for a fee of $5,000 and for
construction administration for a n approximate fee of $91,000, and,
WHEREAS said proposed agreement had been reviewed by the City Attorney.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the city retain Maurer-Stutz, Inc. as professional engineers for the water
transmission line project, and,
2. That the city advertise for bids for said project.
That the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Canton, Illinois are hereby authorized and
directed to execute and deliver said Contract on behalf of the City of Canton.
4. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by
the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor
thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a regular
meeting this 5th day of December ~ 2000, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen May, Shores, Meade, Nidiffer, Phillips, Sarff,
Hartford, Molleck.
NAYS: None ,
ABSENT: None .
