AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9-10-2 (PARKING) OF CHAPTER 9
(TRAFFIC REGULATIONS) OF THE CANTON MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee has determined that it is necessary and
in the best interests of the citizens of Canton, Illinois to amend Section 9-10-2 (Parking) of the
Canton Municipal Code, and
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee has determined that it is necessary and
in the best interest of the citizens of Canton, Illinois to delete the paragraph titled "South First
Avenue" of Section 9-10-2 (F) (Parking) of Title 9 (Traffic Regulations), Chapter 10 (Traffic
Schedules) of the Canton Municipal Code which describes handicap parking on South First
Avenue; and
WHEREAS,the City Council has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois as follows:
(1) That paragraph that reads "South First Avenue Two (s) handicap parking signs shall
be placed on the west side of South First Avenue, adjacent to the South Park United Methodist
Church at 600 South First Avenue" contained in Section 9-10-2 (Parking) of Chapter 10 (Traffic
Schedules) of the Canton Municipal Code is hereby deleted.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting
this 7th day of January 2014
