ORDINANCE NO. 3029
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR NO PARKING SIGNS IN THE 1500 BLOCK OF EAST
ASH STREET PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE STREET FROM
15th AVENUE TO 16th AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY,
ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee has determined that due to the amount of
traffic on East Ash Street by Ingersoll Middle School, it is necessary and in the best interests of the
citizens of Canton, Illinois to place no parking signs in the 1500 block of East Ash Street, prohibiting
parking on the south side of the street, in the City of Canton, Illinois, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That no parking signs shall be placed on the south side of the street in the 1500 block of East
Ash Street between 15th and 16th Avenues and that every driver of a motor vehicle will refrain
from parking any vehicle under his or her control in said area.
2. That any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction or plea, be subject to a fine
of not less than Five dollars ($5.00) nor more than Twenty-Five dollars ($25.00) for each such
offense.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and
publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this
5th day of November, 2013 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Pasley,Lovell, Ellis, Justin Nelson, Pickel,Jim Nelson,Putrich, West
