RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF
ILLINOIS FOR IMPROVEMENTS OF ILLINOIS ROUTE 9/ILLINOIS ROUTE
78 (FAP ROUTE 22)
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has entered into an Agreement with the State of
Illinois for the improvement of Illinois Route 9/Illinois Route 78 (FAP Route 22), known
as State Section, 135W-2, RS -3, City Section 01-00090-00-SW; and
WHEREAS, in compliance with the aforementioned Agreement, it is necessary
for the City of Canton to appropriate Motor Fuel Tax Funds to pay its share of the cost of
said improvement. .
WHEREAS, that upon award of the contract for this improvement, the City of
Canton will pay to the Department of Transportation of the State of Illinois, in a lump
sum from any funds allotted to the City, under the Motor Fuel Tax Law, an amount equal
to 95% of its obligation incurred under this Agreement, and will pay to the said
Department the remainder of its obligation (including any non -participation costs for FA
projects) in a lump sum, upon completion of the project based upon final costs.
WHEREAS, that the City agrees to pass a supplemental resolution to provide
necessary funds for its share of the cost of this improvement if the amount appropriated
herein proved to be insufficient to cover said cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that there is hereby appropriated
the sum of Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000), or so much thereof as may be necessary,
from any money now or hereafter allotted to the City under the provisions of the Motor
Fuel Tax Law, to pay its shaze of the cost of this improvement as provided in the
Agreement; and
PASSED: by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a
regulaz meeting this 2nd day of Septanber , 2001, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldern~en Fillingha~n, Shores, Meade, Nidiffer, West, Sarff,
Hartford, Nblleck.
NAYES:None
ABSENT: None.
