HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution #3570RESOLUTION NO. 3570 A RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE FOR LONGEVITY PAY FOR DEPUTY CHIEF OF POLICE DONALD F. EDWARDS WHEREAS, Officers of the Police and Fire Departments are eligible for a longevity step after 20 years of service and upon written notice may be moved to the last longevity step. Such employees shall be entitled to receive the salary provided in such step for a maximum of thirty days. WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council has made a similar provision for the incumbent police chief; and, WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to make a comparable provision for the incumbent deputy chief of police. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: 1. Donald F. Edwards, upon written notice to the Mayor, shall receive the $7,500.00 longevity step for a period of 30 days. If, however, he is still employed after the 30 days, his salary will revert to his previous salary. 2. This is exclusive of all other pay raises, such as annual percentage raises. 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois.
