HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution #3569RESOLUTION NO. 3569 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TRUCK TRAFFIC ON THE NORTH HALF OF THE 800 BLOCK OF SOUTH SIXTH AVENUE WHEREAS, the Canton City Code generally prohibits traffic by heavy trucks on all city streets which are not state highways except when making deliveries; and, WHEREAS, the CITGO station located at the intersection of South Fifth Avenue and East Linn Street has installed or will install a fueling station for large trucks, including semi trailer trucks; and, WHEREAS, it appears that it is advisable to permit trucks using the fueling facility of CITGO to exit from said facility to Illinois Route 9; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: 1. That trucks exiting the fueling facility of the service station at South Fifth Avenue and East Linn Street be permitted to make a left turn only and then to utilize the North Half of the 800 Block of South Sixth Avenue to reach Illinois Route 9. 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 17th day of April, 2001, upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aldermen May, Shores, Meade, Nidiffer, Phillips, Sarff, Hartford, Molleck.
