RESOLUTION NO. 3565
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A BID FOR THE
PROPOSED POTABLE WATER TRANSMISSION LINE
WHEREAS, the City of Canton advertised for bids for construction of a water
transmission line from Canton Lake to the City; and,
WHEREAS, seven bids were received with the low bid being that of Laverdiere
Construction Company of Macomb in the amount of $1,655,486.50; and,
WHEREAS, said bid is significantly lower than the Engineer's opinion of
probable cost of $2,172,189.00; and,
WHEREAS, Laverdiere Construction Company has successfully completed other
projects for the City of Canton and for other entities within the City; and,
WHEREAS, the awarding of a contract to Laverdiere Construction is contingent
upon receipt by the City of Canton of an Illinois Environmental Protection Agency State
Revolving Loan Fund loan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF CANTON,
Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the bid OF Laverdiere Construction Company for construction of the
water transmission line in the amount of $1,655,486.50 be accepted contingent upon
receipt by the City of Canton of an Illinois EPA State Revolving Loan Fund loan.
2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by
the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor
thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a regular
meeting this 20~' day of March, 2001, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen May, Shores, Meade, Nidiffer, Phillips, Sarff,
Haxtford, Molleck,
NAYS: None .
