HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution #3564 RESOLUTION NO. 3564 A RESOLUTION FOR CONTINGENT AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR POTABLE WATER STANDPIPE REHABILITATION WHEREAS, the City of Canton advertised for bids for rehabilitation of the standpipe for potable water located on North 4th Avenue in Canton; and, WHEREAS, six bids were received for the specified rehabilitation work and further alternate bids were received; and, WHEREAS, Thomas Industrial Coatings, Inc. of Pevely, Missouri was the low bidder at $330,492.00 which per Thomas Industrial Coatings, Inc. includes a price of $2,147.00 as Alternate No. 1 to repaint the logo on the standpipe; and, WHEREAS, the bid of Thomas Industrial Coatings, Inc. was lower than the engineer's opinion of probable cost and 21.1 % below the next highest bidder; and, WHEREAS, the many references contacted by the resource personnel of the City verified the past performance of Thomas Industrial Coatings, Inc.; and, WHEREAS, the awarding of the contract must be contingent, that is to say, dependent upon the ability of the City to obtain a loan from the Illinois Public Water Supply Loan Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: 1. That the bid of Thomas Industrial Coatings, Inc. for the rehabilitation of the potable water standpipe in the amount of $330,492.00 which includes the painting of the standpipe logo should be accepted subject only to the City's ability to obtain the loan for which it has applied to the Illinois (EPA) Public Water Supply Loan Program. 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a regular meeting this 20~' day of March, 2001, upon a roll call vote as follows: AYE5: Aldermen Nblleck, Hartford, Sarff, Phillips, Nidiffer, Meade, Shores, May, NAY5: None .
