' / • ~ ~ ORDINANCE NO. 1892 An Ordinance annexing and re-zoning certain property of the Bank of Farmington, an Illinois banking corporation, in a B-2 zoning configuration. WHEREAS, the properry described on Exhibit A, which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference (~~Bank Property'~, is not located within the corporate limits of the City of Canton, but is located in the County of Fulton and State of Illinois; and WHEREAS, the Bank of Farmington has filed a Petition for Annexation and Re- Zoning seeking to annex the Bank Property to the City of Canton in a B-2 zoning configuration; and WHEREAS, the Bank Property is contiguous to the City of Canton along its South line for a distance of approximately 344.7 feet, more or less, and no electors reside therein; and WHEREAS, Notice was given to the Trustees of the Copperas Creek Fire Protection District and the Trustees of the Parlin Ingersoll Library, in accordance with 65 ILCS 5/7-1-1; and WHEREAS, Notice was published in the Daily Ledger, a secular newspaper of general circulation in the City of Canton and County of Fulton of the Bank of 1 MSW-REAL ESTATE Bank of Farmington Ordinance Sb11.14.06 I . i Farmington's Petition for Annexation and Re-Zoning, in accordance with 65 ILCS 5/7-1- 2(b); and WHEREAS, on November 13, 2006, the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois, met pursuant to Notice as required by law and held a public hearing concerning the Petitioner's request to annex the Bank Property to the City of Canton in a~-2 zc,ning configuration and a~ said public h~aring, there were no objectors present and thereafter, the Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously recommended to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, the annexation of the Bank Property in a B-2 zoning configuration; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION: 1. The Bank Property described on Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference, shall be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Canton in a B-2 zoning configuration. 2. A certified copy of this Ordinance annexing the Bank Properry, together with an accurate map of the annexed territory, shall be recorded with the Recorder of Deeds of Fulton County, Illinois, and filed with the County Clerk of Fulton County, Illinois, in accordance with 65 ILCS 5/7-1-8. 3. That the Mayor of the City of Canton, Illinois, shall be and he is hereby authorized to affix his signature as the Mayor of said City to this Ordinance and the City 2 MSW-REAL ESTATE Bank of Farmington Ordinance Sb11.14.06 ; Clerk of the City of Canton, IIlinois, shall be and she is hereby authorized to attest such signature thereto.
