ORDINANCE NO. 3004
An Ordinance Annexing Certain Territory to the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
(0.51248 Acres).
WHEREAS, a written petition, signed by the legal owner of records of all land within the
territory hereinafter described, has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois, requesting that said territory be annexed to the City of Canton; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the Corporate Authorities of the City of Canton
and after which the Corporate Autharities voted to approve said Annexation Agreement; and
WHEREAS, there is one (1) elector, that being said petitioner, residing within said territory,
and
WHEREAS, legal notices regarding the intention of the City to annex said territory have
been sent to all public bodies required to receive such notice by state stature; and,
WHEREAS, copies of such notices required to be recorded, if any, have been recorded in the
Office of the Recorder of Fulton County; and,
WHEREAS, the legal owner of recor,d of said territory, Regina M. McCuistion, and the City
of Canton have entered into a valid and binding annexation agreement relating to such territory;
and,
WHEREAS, all petitions, documents, and other necessary legal requirements are in full
compliance with the terms of the annexation agreement and with the statutes of the State of
Illinois, specifically Section 7-1-8 of the Illinois Municipal Code; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Canton that the territory be annexed
thereto,
NOW, Therefore, be it ordained by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1: THAT the following described territory,
A PART OF LOT NUMBER NINE (9) IN HOMEWOOD ADDITION TO
CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
Commencing at the Southeast Corner of said Lot Number 9, running thence West 112
feet, thence North 199.32 feet, thence East 112 feet, thence South 199.32 feet to the
place of beginning.

COMMON ADDRESS: 613 West Chestnut Street, Canton, Illinois 61520
Being indicated on an accurate map of the annexed territory (which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein as Exhibit A), is hereby annexed to the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois and is zoned R-2, Single Family.
Section 2: THAT the City Clerk is hereby directed to record with the Recorder and to file
with the County Clerk a certified copy of this Ordinance, together with the accurate map of the
territory annexed appended to the Ordinance.
Section 3: THAT this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
