Box 252 Canton, IL canton~reenwoodcem(a~sbcglobal net Meetina Date: November 8, 2012 Pr_. esent: John Favorita, Susan Walters, Barb Ranallo and Roy Richardson (Sexton). The meeting was called to order at 7:30 AM. The October 4, 2012 minutes were read, corrected and approved. Copies of the minutes will be sent to Mayor Kevin Meade, City Administrator Jim Snider, City Treasurer Nicole Marter, City Clerk Diana Pavley and Carol Kohler. Old Business *It was decided that we will not pay the high cost for Comcast Internet. *Susan received the payment ($1,282.80) from State Farm Insurance for the replacement of the fence at South Main and Linn Streets from the accident that occurred June 6, 2012. The check was deposited in the Fence Fund. Jarvis Welding did the work. It still needs painted. New Business *The Greenwood Cemetery Financial Statement prepared by Hocker & Fitzjarrald, P.C. was distributed. The balance as of October 31, 2012 was $85,031.72. *Roy distributed his monthly report for October 2012. -There were six burials. -There were five burials of ashes. -There were two graves sold. -Jarvis Welding has completed the repair on the cemetery fence. It will be painted soon. -The door glass has been replaced on the backhoe. -The Kubota tractor has 2000 hours on it. The starter has been replaced. It is leaking a small amount of oil. -The printer needs an ink cartridge. *Susan received a letter from Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation which confirmed receipt of our application for licensure. "Hocker & Fitzjarrald, P.C. sent their yearly engagement letter that lists the bookkeeping services that they perform for us. *Susan checked the rates and options for investing perpetual funds from the General Account. It was decided to put it in a local bank as opposed to Illinois State Funds. *The city returned the 2012 monthly report envelopes along with the City of Canton Annual Financial Report for the year ending April 30, 2012. *A complaint about flowers being removed from a new grave was received. Greenwood Cemetery Article II states that flowers will be removed after four days of burial. It was discussed that in cooler weather the flowers might be allowed for an extra couple of days. "The next Board Meeting will be held December 13, 2012 at the cemetery office at 7:30 AM. Barb will contact the Ledger with the change of date.
