RESOLUTION NO. 3609
A RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIFIC SALARIES FOR THE VARIOUS
DEPARTMENT HEADS, SUPERINTENDENTS, FULL TIME APPOINTIVE
EMPOLOYEES AND PART TIME APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF
CANTON
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has determined that it is
necessary, desirable and in the best interest of the city of Canton to set specific salaries for the
appointive employees of the City of Canton; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Canton, Illinois has reviewed the proposed
salary for said full time appointive employees and part time employees of the City of Canton,
said salaries being set forth in Exhibit A, which is hereto attached and herein incorporated by
reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the salaries for the various department heads, superintendents, full time appointive
employees and part time appointive employees of the City of Canton, Illinois, said
salaries being set forth in Exhibit A hereto attached and herein incorporated by reference,
are hereby approved. Said salaries are to be effective as of and retroactive to and
inclusive of the date of May 1, 2002. Further, that said salaries are in addition to other
emoluments and entitlements normally and customarily extended to each such employee.
2. That effective the first day of May 2002, the base salary of the. Chief of Police Chief of
the City of Canton is hereby increased by a longevity step based upon 10 years as Police
Chief of $1,244.00 per month. Provided, however, that said increase shall only become
effective upon the completion of 10 years of service as Chief of said Department. All
other salary provisions shall remain in place.
3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and in effect immediately upon its passage by
the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approved by the Mayor thereof
this 7th day of May , 2002.
