A RESOLUTION APPROVING ADDITIONAL STREET LIGHTING LOCATED
ON HOWARD PLACE BETWEEN 2ND AVENUE AND 3RD AVENUE, CANTON,
ILLINOIS, FULTON COUNTY
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton has determined that it is
necessary, desirable and in the best interests of the City of Canton to hereby approve
additional street lighting located on Howard Place between 2"d Avenue and 3`a Avenue,
Canton, Illinois
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton hereby agrees to pay the
monthly fee for the streetlight to Ameren CIPS.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the City Council of
the City of Canton, Illinois, that Ameren CIPS be and hereby it is requested to furnish the
City of Canton, Illinois, the following street lighting service:
Description and Location:
That the light be placed on an existing utility pole that is located on the
south side of Howard Place 234 feet west of an existing street light at 3~'
Avenue and Howard Place and 284 feet east of the existing street light at
2"d Avenue and Howard Place. The total distance between the 2"d Avenue
streetlight and the 3`~ Avenue streetlight is 518 feet, which slightly
surpasses the 500-foot rule for street lighting.
PASSED: by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approved by
the Mayor thereof this 2ndday of Apri12002. Voice vote, motion carried.
