Meetin~ Date: August 16, 2012
Present: John Favorita, Susan Walters, Barb Ranallo and Roy Richardson (Sexton).
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 AM. The July 13, 2012 minutes were read,
corrected and approved. Copies of the minutes will be sent to Mayor Kevin Meade, City
Administrator Jim Snider, City Treasurer Nicole Marter and City Clerk Diana Pavley.
Old Business
*The city provider for the internet is Comcast. Comcast came out to the cemetery to look
at the situation and will contact the city on their findings. The city stated that the
cemetery should be on the city's plan.
New Business
*The Greenwood Cemetery Financial Statement prepared by Hocker & Fitzjarrald, P.C.
was distributed. The balance as of July 31, 2012 was $70,742.28.
*Roy distributed his monthly report for July 2012.
-There were four burials.
-There were two burials of ashes.
-There were four graves sold.
-The roads that were to be resurfaced this year are complete.
-A weed eater and chain saw were repaired.
-The flagpole that the board requested to have removed has been taken down.
The flagpole was rusted at the bottom and ready to fall.
*The board had a special meeting with the city on August 10, 2012 to discuss cemetery
business and personnel. We are waiting for minutes from the city clerk.
*Barb will write a letter to local and area funeral homes concerning a new service fees
contract, which is in compliance with the COA (Cemetery Oversight Act). She will send a
letter of instruction and new service fee contract.
"It was stressed that Roy needs to document Brandon's noncompliance. He is to send
written comments to the board members and the mayor via email.
*Roy and Brandon will fill out the COA (Cemetery Oversight Act) paperwork from the
packet that we were given from the city attorney.
*Roy and Brandon will fill out the personnel policy paperwork from the city.
*The city handles the IRMF check that Susan used to write.
'"'The city is taking care of the cemetery licensing.
*Someone ran into the fence at the South Main and Linn Street intersection. The police
department was contacted, but no report was filed with them.
*It was decided that the board needs to clarify the resolution on Allotment of Ashes Per
Gravesite.
*The next Board Meeting will be held September 6, 2012 at the cemetery office at 7:30
AM.
With no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:45 AM.
