AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR THE OPERATION OF A
DAY CARE FACILITY AT 200 EAST ALDER STREET, SUITE A, CANTON ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that the
territory hereinafter described as located with the corporate limits of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois: and
WHEREAS, a petition was filed by Kevin Williams as the owner of real property
requesting a special use permit for a portion of the property as a child care facility, currently
known as Headstart; and
WHEREAS, notice of a petition for a special use permit in an I-l zoning configuration
was published in the Canton Daily Ledger, a newspaper of regular circulation in the City of
Canton, County of Fulton, State of Illinois, on July 27, 2012, all in accordance with the Statute of
the State of Illinois and ordinances of the City of Canton so made and provided: and
WHEREAS, no objectors appeared at said hearing set before the Planning and Zoning
Commission, on August 13, 2012, and a favorable recommendation to operate a child care facility
under special use permit was therefore made.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
That the City County of the City of Canton, County of Fulton, Illinois, hereby finds
the facts of the aforegoing recitals to be fact.
2. That a special use permit for a child care facility at 200 East Alder, Suite A, Canton
Illinois, 61520, as described herein on the attached Exhibit A, shall be, and the same
is hereby issued to Kevin Williams.
3. That the appropriate maps, plats and related documents of the City of Canton, shall
be and the same are hereby amended to reflect the foregoing special use permit
granted herein.
PASSED the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and APPROVED By
the Mayor thereof the 2l day of August, 2012, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Hartford, Schenck, Pasley, west, Fritz, Ellis, Nelson

ABSENT: None
