AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMTr TO CREATE LIVING
QUARTERS IN ONE-HALF OF THE BUII.DING LOCATED AT 1719 EAST WALNUT
STREET, CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that the
territory hereinafter described is located within the corporate limits of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, a petition was filed by Paul and Virjean Davies as the owners of the real
property requesting a special use permit for use of one-half of the property as living quarters; and
WHEREAS, notice of the petition for the special use permit in a B-2 zoning
configuration was published in the Canton Daily Ledger, a newspaper of regular circulation in
the City of Canton, County of Fulton, State of Illinois, on May 22, 2012, all in accordance with
the statute of the State of Illinois and ordinances of the City of Canton so made and provided;
and
WHEREAS, no objectors appeared at said hearing before the planning and zoning
commission on June 1 l, 2012, and a favorable recommendation to create living quarters in one-
half of the building at 1719 East Walnut Street under a special use permit was therefore made.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT ORDAINED BY TI~ CTTY COUNCIL OF TI~ CITY
OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the City Council of the City of Canton, County of Fulton, Illinois, hereby
finds the facts of the aforegoing recitals to be fact.
2. That a special use permit to create living quarters in one-half of the building at
1719 East Walnut Street, Canton, Illinois, 61520, as described herein on the
attached Exhibit A, shall be and the same is hereby issued to Paul and Virjean
Davies.
3. That the appropriate maps, plats and related documents of the City of Canton,
shall be and the same as hereby amended to reflect the aforegoing special use
permit granted herein.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and approved by the
Mayor thereof at a regular meeting this 17day of July 2012, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Alderman Pickel, Schenck, Pasley, HaMford, Nelson, Ellis, West, Fritz
NAYS: None
