AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 7, CHAPTER 1, SECTION 6-1 OF THE
CANTON MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, there is no specific prohibition against weeds as defined in the
Canton Municipal Code; and,
WHEREAS, a provision of prohibition should be contained in said Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the City Council hereby finds the foregoing recitals to be fact.
2. That Title 7, Chapter 1, Section 6 shall be amended to read as follows:
"7-1-6- l : DEFINITION, WEEDS: All noxious vegetation and all
grasses, annual plants and vegetation other than trees or shrubs which
exceeds a height or length of eight inches (8"); provided, however, this
term shall not include cultivated flowers and gardens. All weeds as so
defined are prohibited in the City of Canton."
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton and approved by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a
regular meeting this 2nd day of May ~ 2000
