HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1712ORDINANCE NO. 1712 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF CANTON WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Canton City Council of the City of Canton it is no longer necessary or useful to or for the best interests of the City of Canton to retain the following described personal property now owned by the City: Four (4) Sections of Lockboxes and Keys; and, WHEREAS, the First State Bank of Western Illinois of Laharpe, Illinois has offered to purchase the Lockboxes and keys for the sum of $1500.00; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CANTON CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows: 1. The foregoing recitals are incorporated herein as findings of the Canton City Council. 2. Pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, 65 ILCS 5/11- 76-4, the Canton City Council find that the Lockboxes, now owned by the City of Canton, is no longer necessary or useful to the City of Canton and the best interest of the City of Canton will be served by its sale. 3. Pursuant to said Section 11-76-4, the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to sell the Lockboxes to First State Bank of Laharpe, Illinois for the sum of $1500.00. 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approved by the Mayor thereof. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 6th day of November , 2001, upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: ~-de~n Fillingham, Shores, Meade, west, Sarff, Hartford, Molleck.
