AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING, DIRECTING AND SETTING THE DATE FOR THE
SALE AT PUBLIC AUCTION OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY
THE CITY OF CANTON AND NO LONGER NEEDED FOR CITY PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has determined that the City of Canton presently
owns certain items of personal property no longer needed or used for City purposes; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. The following items hereto attached as Exhibit "A" are hereby approved for sale and shall be
sold at public auction and to the highest bidder. Such auction shall be held at the 200 East Alder
Street Canton Illinois, on Saturday Apri128, 2012 at 9:00 AM, and continuing until all items are
sold or until bidding has terminated.
2. Advertisement of such sale shall be made by Gorsuch Auction House.
3. The Mayor may, in his discretion, hire and employ one or more professional auctioneer(s) to
assist in such auction.
4. That this Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the
City of Canton, Illinois, by at least 3/4 vote of the Corporate Authorities and approval of the
Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting
this 17 day of April, 2012 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Schenck, Pasley, Fritz, West, Nelson, Ellis, Pickel, Hartford
NAYS: None
ABSENT: None

CITY OF CANTON
The sale for Public Auction of certain personal property owned by the City of Canton and no
longer needed for City purposes will be held at the Gorsuch Auction House, 1004 S. Fourth
Ave., Canton, Illinois on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at 9:00 a.m.
A copy of Auction items may be picked up at the City Clerk's office, 2 N. Main Street, Canton,
Illinois, or can be viewed on the City's website at www.cantonillinois.or~.
