AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 1693
WHEREAS, on April 17, 2001 the City Council of the City of Canton adopted an
Ordinance providing for compensation of certain personnel following stated periods of
service; and,
WHEREAS, it appears that Section 8.8 was amended to provide for a six month
severance pay among other matters and it now appears inadvisable for that portion of the
ordinance to remain in effect and that that portion of Ordinance No. 1693 should be
repealed; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That that portion of Ordinance No. 1693 dealing with Section 8.8 be and the same
is hereby repealed.
2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage
by the City Council of the City of Canton and approved by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular
meeting this / day of May, 2001.
