HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #2064 ORDINANCE NO 2064 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE ALLEY WEST OF THE RAILROAD TRACKS PARALLEL WITH FOURTH AVENUE BE ONE-WAY GOING SOUTH FROM LOCUST STREET TO LIBERTY PLACE IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee has determined that it is necessary and in the best interest of the citizens of Canton, Illinois to provide that the alley west of the railroad tracks parallel with Fourth Avenue be one-way going South from Locust Street to Liberty Place in the City of Canton, Illinois; and WHEREAS, the City Council has made a similar determination. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows: 1. That the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be fact. 2. That the alley west of the railroad tracks parallel with Fourth Avenue will be one-way going south from Locust Street to Liberty Place in the City of Canton, Illinois. 3. That traffic control signs shall be placed on the affected alley in conformity with the foregoing. 4. That any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction or plea, be subject to a fine of not less than Twenty-Five ($25.00) nor more than Five Hundred ($500.00) dollars for each such offense. 5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication as provided by law. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 3rd day of January, 2012 upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aldermen Schenck, Pasley, Fritz, West, Nelson, Ellis, Pickel, Hartford NAYS: None ABSENT: None APPROVED: Kevin R.
