ORDINANCE N0. 1690
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF
CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, BELONGING TO JINIl~IIE
D. ESSEX AND NORMA J. ESSEX AND LOCATED ON MARLEE
DRIVE, CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the City Clerk for the
annexation of the real property described below:
Lot 22 in Bar-Mac Subdivision to the City of Canton,
situated in the County of Fulton and State of Illinois;
P.I.N. 09-08-15-202-005.
WHEREAS, a public hearing on said petition was conducted by
the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton on March
12, 2001, pursuant to proper notice having been published in the
Daily Ledger;
WHEREAS, on March 12, 2001, the Planninq and Zoninq
Commission recommended to the City Council that the real property
described above be annexed to the City of Canton pursuant to 65
ILLS 5/7-1-1 et seq.; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Canton,
Illinois, that said real property be annex to the City of Canton.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
1. That the territory described above be and it is hereby
annexed to the City of Canton, Illinois.
2. That the described real property be and it is hereby
zoned R-2, single-family residential.
3. That the Zoning Administrator is directed to make the
appropriate changes to the zoning maps of the City of Canton to
show this annexation and zoning.
4. That the City Clerk is directed to record with the
Fulton County Recorder and to file with the Fulton County Clerk a
certified copy of this Ordinance, together with an accurate map of
the annexed territory.
5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton and
approval by its Mayor.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 4th day of ~'P~1
2001, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldenneri May, Shores, Meade, Nidiffer, Phillips, Sarff,
Hartford, Nblleck,
NAYS: NOne.
