AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TITLE 10, CHAPTER 15, SECTION 24
SUBSECTION (K)(9)(d) OF THE CANTON MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
SIGNS
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has determined that it is necessary and in
the best interest of the City of Canton to amend Title 10, Chapter 15, Section 24
Subsection (K)(9)(d) of the Canton City Code relating to signs; and,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council finds the foregoing recitals to be fact.
2. That Section 10, Title 15, Chapter 24 Subsection K(9)(d) of the Canton City
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"10-15-24(K)(9)(d):
(d) No sign may be posted more than thirty one (31) days prior to the event and
all signs must be removed within forty eight (48) hours after the event provided
however that the time for removal of temporary signs may be extended by council
resolution due to special extenuating circumstances."
3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, approval by the Mayor thereof and
publication in pamphlet form.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a
regular meeting this 6th day of Februaxy 2001, upon a roll call vote as
follows:
AYES: Aldermen May, Shores, Meade, Nidiffer, Phillips, Sarff, Hart-
ford, Molleck.
NAYS: None ,
ABSENT: 'None.
