AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A NO PARKING SIGN IN THE 600 BLOCK OF
NORTH AVENUE B PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE STREET
FROM VINE STREET TO MYRTLE STREET, IN THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON
COUNTY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee has determined that due to narrow street
width, it is necessary and in the best interests of the citizens of Canton, Illinois to place a no parking
sign in the 600 block of North Avenue B, prohibiting parking on the east side of the street from Vine
Street to Myrtle Street, in the City of Canton, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That a No Parking sign shall be placed op the east side of the street in the 600 block of North
Avenue B between Vine Street to Myrtle Street and that every driver of a motor vehicle will
refrain from parking any vehicle under his or her control in said area.
2. That any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction or plea, be subject to a fine
of not less than Five dollars ($5.00) nor more than Twenty-Five dollars ($25.00) for each such
offense.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and
publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this
lst day of November 2011 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Scheck, Pasley, Fritz, West, Nelson, Pickel, Hartford
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Alderman Ellis
