AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10-15-25 OF THE CANTON
MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING COMMUNICATION TOWERS
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton has
recommended changes in Section 10-15-25 of the Canton City Code pertaining to
communication towers; and,
WHEREAS, the recommendations were the subject of a public hearing held on
January 8, 2001 after published notice by said commission and, postponment because of
weather from December 11, 2000; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton has determined that the
recommended changes should be adopted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That Section 10-15-25 of the Canton City Code be amended to read as follows:
"10-15-25: Radio, Television Towers: All public broadcast radio, television and
other transmitting or relay antenna towers may be permitted in a B-2, I-1 and I-2
District provided such use has access upon a major street. Construction must be
consistent with current building codes."
2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, approval by the Mayor thereof and
publication in pamphlet form.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a
regular meeting this 16th day of January 2001, upon a roll call vote as
follows:
AYES: Aldermen May, Shores, Meade, Nidiffer, Phillips, Sarff,
Hartford, Molleck.
NAYS: None
ABSENT: None
