AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE POSITION OF SYSTEM
MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT FOR THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is necessary, desirable and in the best
interest of the City of Canton to create an appointive position of System Maintenance
Superintendent to be filled by the Mayor with concurrence of the City Council.
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
1. The System Maintenance Superintendent will systematically review the
conditions and plans, supervises the maintenance of storm sewers, water
lines and sanitary sewers. Shall also include duties assigned by the Public
Works Director or Mayor and City Council.
2. The System Maintenance Superintendent shall prepaze and monitor an
annual budget/expenditure, avehicle/truck/heavy equipment fleet and
associated equipment and recommends capital requirements to the Public
Works Director.
3. Directs and provides guidance to subordinates relating to maintenance,
repair and construction of Public Works Department.
4. The Mayor shall appoint the position of System Maintenance
Superintendent with concurrence of the City Council.
5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton and approved by the
Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a
regulaz meeting this 17th day of December , 2(f~2 , upon a roll
call vote as follows:
