HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution #3959 RESOLUTION NO. 3 9 5 9 A R,ES4LUTION IN SUPPORT OF PROVIDING OPTIONAL PROGRAMS WITHIN THE CITY 4F CANTON'S GR4UP HEALTH WHEREAS, the Insurance Committee for the City of Canton made a recommendation that the City establish a high deductible/health savings account, wellness program and an opt-out provision within the current group health plan; and WHEREAS, the Finance Committee concluded that establishing a high deductible/health savings account, a wellness progrann and an opt-out provision were cost-effective and in the best interests af the employees and the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council has made a similar determination. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CZTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FULLOWS: Section 1: The City desires to adopt the following as more fully detailed in Exhibit A to this Resolution as optional programs that employees may select and participate in until May 30, 2U12: Option 1: High-deductiblelhealtli savings account Option 2: Spouse opt-out program Option 3: Employee and spouse wellness program BE IT RESOLVED, that the options are hereby adopted in the form presented and attached to this Resalution. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute the plan documents and to take such further actions and to execute such further docutnents as they may deem advisable or desirable for the purposes of adopting and implementing the options, and announcing the options to employees.
