Canton, illinois. (Second meeting.)
Invocation was given by Public Works Director Clif O'Brien
Mayor Kevin Meade asked for roll call at 7:10 p.m.
Alderman Present - Eric Schenck, Rick Reed, Jeff Fritz, Craig West, Justin Nelson, Jerry Ellis,
Dave Pickel, Jim Hartford
Absent - None.
Others Present- City Treasurer Aaron Anderson, City Attorney Chrissie Peterson, City
Administrator Jim Snider, Mayor Kevin Meade, City Clerk Diana Tucker, WTP Supt. Greg Pollitt,
Public Works Director Clif O'Brien, Interim Fire Chief Ernie Russell,
Media Present:
Daily Ledger John Froehling, Democrat Stacey Creasy, Video Services Joe Ginger,
ADOPT ROBERTS RULES OF ORDER.
Motion and second was made by Aldermen Hartford/Pickel to adopt Roberts Rules of Order to
conduct business for the City of Canton.
The motion carried by voice vote and was unanimous.
COMMUNICATIONS FROM MAYOR KEVIN MEADE
Swearing In of Officials:
City Clerk Diana Tucker swore in Alderman Jeff Fritz, Dave Pickel, Justin Nelson and Rick Reed as
Aldermen for a four year term.

Appointments for 2011-2012 Fiscal Year
Mayor Meade made the following appointments for the fiscal year 2011-2012
Chad Mayall to the fire and police commission
Chris Duvendack Charlotte Van Sickle, Ralph Froehling to the library board
Scott Miller, Bret Wheeler, Bob Champlin to the Spoon River Partnership
Motion and second were made by Aldermen Reed/West to approve the appointments.

NEW BUSINESS:
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR POSITIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF CANTON
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING MAY 2011.
Motion and second were made by Aldermen Reed/Nelson to approve the resolution.
The motion carried.
City Administrator Jim Snider stated the ESDA coordinator is in the salary resolution until the
county approves the agreement. The appointment needed to be made to the current ESDA
director.

Absent: None
The motion carried.
Motion and second was made by Alderman Hartford/Pickel to adjourn the meeting and go into
executive session for the purpose of police, fire negotiations and personnel.
The motion carried by voice vote and was unanimous.
