AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 8, CHAPTER 11, SECTION 2 OF THE
CANTON MUNICPAL CODE RELATING TO BOATING, LICENSE
REQUIRED.
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee has determined that it is
necessary and in the best interest of the City of Canton to amend Title 8, Chapter 11,
Section 2 of the Canton Municipal Code; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be fact.
2. That, accordingly, Titles 8-11-2 of the Canton Municipal Code is hereby
amended to read as follows
The Canton City Council hereby establishes that all persons operating boats or
watercraft on Lake Canton shall first pay fees and obtain licenses as follows:
Boat Motor
Horsepower City Resident Nonresident Daily
*0 $ 8.00 $ 10.00 $ 5.00
Under 20 $ 15.00 $ 19.00 $ 5.00
20 thru 39 $ 45.00 $ 65.00 $ 10.00
40 thru 85 $ 55.00 $ 90.00 $ 14.00
3. That this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage by
the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and approval
by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular
meeting this 7th day of May , 2002, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Molleck, Hartford, Sarff, West, Carl, Meade, Shores,
Fillingham.
