HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance # 1888-BORDINANCE NO. 1888—B AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6 -9 -10 (AUXILIARY POLICE FORCE; POWERS) OF THE CANTON MUNICIPAL CODE WHEREAS, the Public Safety Committee has determined that it is necessary and in the best interests of the citizens of Canton, Illinois to amend Section 6 -9 -10 (Auxiliary Police Force; Powers) of the Canton Municipal Code, and WHEREAS, the City Council has made a similar determination. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows: That Section 6 -9 -10 (Auxiliary Police Force; Powers) of the Canton Municipal Code be hereinafter amended to read as follows: POWERS: In addition to the foregoing duties, auxiliary policemen, when on duty, shall have the powers now specified and which may hereafter be specified in the legislative enactments of the State of Illinois. Auxiliary policemen do not have the power to act as conservators of the peace. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 7th day of November , 2006 upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aldermen Lewis, Schenck, Carl, Meade, Sarff, West, Hartford, Berardi NAYS: none APPROVED: Rodney W.
