ORDINANCE NO. 1 ~, ~_
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN ANNUAL SALARY FOR THE
ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the Streets and Garbage Committee of the City of Canton, Illinois
has determined that it is necessary, desirable and in the best interest of the City of Canton
to set specific salaries for the various elected municipal officers including the Mayor,
Alderman, City Clerk and City Treasurer; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has made a similar
determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. Beginning May 1, 2005, the Aldermen of the City of Canton, Illinois shall
receive an annual salary of $3,600.00 per year.
2. Beginning May 1, 2005, the Aldermen of the City of Canton, Illinois shall
receive an additional sum of $150.00 for each special council meeting that
said Alderman is in attendance.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon adoption by a
majority vote of the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval
by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a
regular meeting thisl ~r1, day of October, 2004, upon a roll call vote as follows.
AYES: Aldermen Sarff, Fillingham, t~olleck, Harn, Carl, Hartford,
Reed, Nest.
NAYS: None,
