WHEREAS. The promotion of Sound athletic programs on
an interscholastic basis is ~. integral part
of the American system of education and develop-
ment of our youth, and
WHEREAS, fib. said athletic programs are developed t~~e
vital attributes of character that hav~```A~eri-
cans leaders in the principal fields of'~humau.
endeavor the world over, and
WHEREAS, The Oe.ntom Senior High Sch®ol Baseball '~:eam
has lived up to the best traditi®ns of Ameri-
can athletics, and
WHEREAS, The Canton Senior High School Baseball Team
has brought honor and acclaim not Daly to the
themselves, the institution which they repre-
sent, but also to the community of Canton;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
Canton, Illinois, on behalf of all of the citi-
zens of this community, i~]te this opportunity
and this means to ezpress our pride in their
achievement in placing among the 'gip four high..
school baseball teams in the State of Illin®is,.
and moreover to ezpress our pride in the manner
in which they represented this community and their
high school in said State Baseball Tournament at
Peoria, Illinois in keeping with the best sad
highest traditions cf,sportsmanship, desire,
ability, and teamwork.
