A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SIGNATURES ON CITY CHECKS
WHEREAS, the resignation of Rodney Heinze from the position of Mayor and Kathleen Luker
from the position of City Treasurer created the need for the election and appointment of an interim Mayor
and City Treasurer, respectively; and
WHEREAS, on May 6, 2008 Kevin R. Meade was selected by the City Council to serve as
interim Mayor until Apri130, 2009; and
WHEREAS, on July 8, 2008, Julie Smick was appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City
Council to serve as interim City Treasurer until April 30, 2009; and
WHEREAS, the addition of Mayor Kevin Meade and Treasurer Julie Smick necessitates the
addition of these officials as authorized signatories on all City accounts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The following Officials are hereby authorized to sign checks, drafts, bills of
exchange, and other orders; to authorize drafts or ACH withdrawals where a combination of two (2)
principal signatures are required for the remaining FY 2008-2009:
1. Mayor: Kevin Meade
2. City Treasurer: Julie Smick
3. City Clerk: Nancy Whites
SECTION 2: Signature cards with the signatures of persons authorized to sign shall be forwarded
to all City depositories.
SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage
by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.

ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois at a regular meeting this 15th day of
JAY , 2008 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Schenck, Berardi, Sarff , Glest, Nidiffer, Strandberg, Lewis .
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Alderman ?fines .
