Four y~:ars ago, almost to a day, a new City Council for
the City of Canton was installed, e.nd Lee Caok, as Mayor of thy:
City took .. `seat ant? we set aut on a new voyage.
The faur~years were ~ busy time far the Mayer and the Al-
dermen.. Regular meetings have been held, special meetings called,
and many cammittee meetings assembled to consider special prob-
lens.
Mayor Caok has been present at nearly all of these meetings
and has presided at most of the regular -:end special meetings of
the Council. He has at all times conducted said meetings with
patience and understanding. He has insisted on open meetings. .Any
Councilman or citizen of Canton was recognized whenever he desired
to speak before the Council. Through his efforts, with the aid of
important committees appointed by him, the City has gone forward,
made progress, and is Mill ~;rowin~; and ~,,ragressing.
He has much to look back on in deep satisfaction, and lit-
tle to regret. His task has been great, he has worked dilli~ently
for the people of the City of Canton, he ha3 responded to all
organization, social and business, he has heeded all calls and
requests. His has been a successful administration.
