Crawford, Registered Professional Engineer, Number 62-20840, in the State of Illinois, and WHEREAS, this Agreement outlines the traffic engineering services to be performed for the CITY. PROPOSAL FOR TRAFFIC ENGINEERING SERVICES We agree to perform those Traffic Engineering Services a.s might be done by a City Traffic Engineer up to the limits prescribed by the Engineering Agreement. We will devote as much time as is available to any or all of the following traffic engineering functions in the order of their need or in the order prescribed by the City. 1. Supervision of the maintenance of all traffic control devices, including scheduling of maintenance, inspection to determine maintenance needs, and training of City personnel in maintenance procedures or techniques . 2. Periodically determine the applicability of existing traffic controls to current traffic patterns . 3, Advise members of the City staff on traffic and/or traffic related matters. Such consultations might include such subjects as access permits , zoning, fire lanes , and detours , 4, Evaluate and improve such traffic systems as: a. Major streets b. One-way streets c. Street name signs 5. Analyze all high accident frequency locations. Establish an accident record filing system for engineering purposes. 6. Attend, on request, meetings of the Gity Council, meetings of a citizens' traffic committee, etc, 7. Train the school crossing guards in proper technique and deportment. 8. Submit an annual report covering all traffic engineering activities . 9. Answer correspondence relative to traffic matters . This would include correspondence with the Illinois Division of Highways , $ureau of Public Roads, and letters from the citizenry, The above engineering services would be included within the framework of the retainer fee. Such special traffic engineering services as comprehensive transportation plans for the entire City or major portion thereof, preparation of construction plans for traffic control devices sucks as traffic signals or geometric intersection designs would be performed on the basis of additional per diem fees or contracts .
