AN ORDINANCE AMENDING 8-11-1 AND 8-11-30 OF THE CANTON
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO LAKE CANTON REGULATIONS.
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee has determined that it is
necessary and in the best interest of the City of Canton to amend 8-11-1 and 8-11-30 of
the Canton Municipal Code; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be fact.
2. That accordingly, 8-11-1 and 8-11-30 of the Canton Municipal Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
8-11-1 LAKE PATROL OFFICER: any persons authorized by the Canton City
Council to primarily enforce the rules and regulations related to the use
and enjoyment of City lakes and campgrounds.
8-11-30 ENFORCEMENT: The Lake Patrol Officer shall have the power to issue
citations, notices to appear, sign complaints and do all other acts and deeds
reasonably necessary to effectuate the requirements of this Chapter subject
to Section 6-1-2 (K) of this Code. Appointment of a person or persons as
Lake Patrol Officer does not deny to any Canton Police Officer the power
to enforce this Chapter. The provisions of this Chapter shall be enforced
by a Lake Patrol Officer or any other law enforcement official having
proper jurisdiction.
3. That this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage by
the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and approval
by the Mayor thereof.

follows:
AYES: Aldermen. FillinglZam, Carl, Harn, Sarff, West, Molleck, Hartford.
NAYS: NOS
