A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING ADDITIONAL DUTIES FOR THE DEPUTY
CLERK/DEPUTY TREASURER FOR THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has apart-time deputy clerk position; and,
WHEREAS, the City previously determined to make it a full-time position
Deputy Clerk/Deputy Treasurer therefore, allowing assistance to the City Treasurer; and,
WHEREAS, with the appointment of the newest Deputy Clerk/Deputy Treasurer
the City Clerk has determined that the Deputy Clerk/Deputy Treasurer should not assist
the City Treasurer; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has appointed a Budget Administrator who
requires information from and coordination with the City Clerk's office; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is important for the
continuity of documents and communications that the Deputy Clerk/Deputy Treasurer
have additional duties assisting the Budget Administrator; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. The City Council is authorized to assign duties to the City Clerk and the
Deputy Clerk/Deputy Treasurer.
2. That the City Council instructs the City Clerk and the Deputy
Clerk/Deputy Treasurer that the Deputy Clerk/Deputy Treasurer shall be
available to assist the Budget Administrator.
3. That the Deputy Clerk/Deputy Treasurer shall facilitate the continuity of
flow of documents, receipts and communications.
4. That the City Clerk. after a consultation with and approval of the City
Treasurer and the Budget Administrator and with consent of the City
Council shall appoint the Deputy Clerk/Deputy Treasurer
5. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a
regular meeting this 16thday of December , 20 03 upon a roll call
vote as follows:

LEGAL NOTICE
OFFERS FOR SALE
Public Notice is hereby given as follows: The City of Canton is the owner of the
following real property and legally describes as:
Lots two (2) and three (3) both in the Barnes and Jones Addition to the City of
Canton, situated in the County of Fulton and State of Illinois.
The City of Canton offers for Sale of said property zoned B-2 (Commercial).
1. Authorize the sale of the Old City Building by staff. All inquires shall be
referred to Clif O'Brien, Public Works Director; George Spahn, Street
Superintendent or Clark Wilson, Zoning Officer.
2. The real estate shall be made available for sale to all local licensed realtors
in the City of Canton. No real estate fum shall receive a commission as
the listing real estate agent and listing shall be open to all realtors in the
City of Canton. A 7% commission shall be paid to the selling agency or
realtor. All offers shall be presented through the managing agent or
licensed broker to the Public Works Director and the Chairman of Lake,
Buildings and Grounds Committee for review to determine if offer is
appropriate for Council consideration.
3. The terms of the sell shall be as follows:
a Cash sale
b Any sale shall be subject to a 3/4 vote by the Corporate Authorities
determined by the City to be in the best interest of the Municipality
c Legal Description as Lots 2 & 3 in Barnes and Jones Addition to the
City of Canton.
d The site is a rectangular tract of land with frontage along East Chestnut
Street a distance of 99 feet and a depth of 132 feet.
e The site is zoned B-2, General Business.
f The Resolution for the sell shall be published once each week for 3
successive weeks in a daily paper in the City of Canton.
g No sale may be conducted until at least 30 days after the first
publication.
4. That the City will require a plan to be submitted for the use of the property
and any plan for remodeling or reconstruction of the interior or exterior.
The sale will be subject to covenants restricting the demolition or the
altering of the North, East or West exterior walls of the structure.
Instructions to Publisher: Publish under Legal Notices, January 9th, January 14th, January
20th, 2004.
Send Certification of publication and bill to City of Canton, 2 N. Main Street, Canton,
Illinois 61520.
