OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS NATIONAL MCI CONSTRUCTION COMPANY of Urbana,
Illinois, has entered into a contract with Fulton County Hous-
ing Authority, dated October 24, 1967, for the construction of
a housing development known as "Canton Low Rise Project," said
project to be constructed upon a part of real estate described
as follows:
Part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 35,
Township 7 North, Range 4 East of the Fourth
Principal Meridian, more particularly described
as follows: Beginning at a point on the East
line of the Northwest Quarter of Section 35,
1359.88 feet South of the Northeast corner of
said Northwest Quarter; thence South 505.45 feet
along said East line; thence South 88 degrees
49 minutes West 610.90 feet to an iron pipe;
thence North 453.00 feet to an iron pipe on the
South line of East Oak Street extended; thence
South 88 degrees 35 minutes West 176.00 feet
along the South line of East Oak Street extended
to an iron pipe at the East line of South Ninth
Avenue extended; thence North 2 degrees 52 min-
utes West 50.00 feet along said East line of
South Ninth Avenue to an iron pipe at the North
line of East Oak Street extended; thence North
88 degrees 35 minutes East 788.65 feet along
the North line of East Oak Street extended to
the point of beginning, containing 7.264 acres,
more or less, situated in the County of Fulton,
in the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS National MCI Construction Company has heretofore
entered into said contract with the understanding that the City
of Canton, Illinois, will provide the necessary extension of
sewer and water facilities to the project, and that the City of
Canton will improve the street along the North side of said pro-
ject, which is known as the extension of East Oak Street, so
that said street extended will conform to the existing streets
in the vicinity; and
WHEREAS National MCI Construction Company has tendered
a right-of-way dedication to the City of Canton, Illinois, of
an area 50 feet in width along the North side of the real es-
tate hereinabove described, for the construction and improve-
ment of East Oak Street extended;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the
City of Canton, Illinois, a Municipal Corporation, as follows:
1. That the dedication of right of way tendered to
the City of Canton by National MCI Construction
Company be and the same is hereby accepted.
2. That the City of Canton will construct a 10-inch
sanitary sewer and an 8-inch water main along the
entire North boundary line of the project site
hereinabove described, being a distance of 611
feet, more or less.
3. That the City of Canton will extend East Oak
Street to the East line of the Northwest Quar-
ter of Section 35, Township 7 North, Range 4
East of the Fourth Principal Meridian, and im-
prove said street with a gravel or rock base,
and thereafter surface the same with surfacing
material compatible .with existing street surfaces
in the vicinity.
