WHEREAS, the M~ror and the members of the City Council
and the citizens of the City of Canton are greatly concerned
for the future welfare and development of our county, and
WHEREAS, we are informed of the efforts of the South Fulton
Developanent Association in attempting to develop and improve the
natural resoura~es of our county which in turn promote recreational
facilities, industry, business, highway safety, water supply, and
WHEREAS, wee ere concerned With the present and future of our
Water conservation and for the best int~reats of our cotmmuiity
and county,
WHEREAS, a x,0,000 acre lake as pro~sosed by said Association
will provide excellent recreational facilities, scenic beauty and
opportunities For the youth.
WHF~tEAS, the economic ~rawth of the area because of the
creation of this lake would greatly benefit the community.
WHEREAS, in the future this land wou~.d undoubtedly develop as
a retirement attraction.
Stich an attraction in this locale shdu].d brim better hi~rays
to the central Illinois.
