RESOLUTION APPROVING AND PROVIDING Li'OR THE EX~;CUTION
OF A PROPOSED CONTRACT FOR GENERAL NEIGHBORFi00D
RENEWAL PLAN UNDER TITLE I OF THE HOUSING ACT OF 1949,
AS AMENDED, NUMBERED CONTRACT N0. Ill. R-103(GN) (A)
BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY 0E+~ CANTO;~~, ILLINOIS, A Municipal
Corporation, AND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
WHEREAS the United States of America (herein called the "Government")
has tendered to the City of Canton, Illinois, A Municipal Corporation
(herein called the ~~Local Public Agency") a proposed Contract for
General Neighborhood Renewal Plan under Title I of the Housing Act of
1949, as amended, under which the Government would make an advance of
Federal funds to the Local Public Agency to aid in financing the cost
of certain surveys and plans in preparation for a General Neighborhood
Renewal Plan designated Project No. Ill. R-103 (GN) (A) in the area
described in such proposed Contract; and
WHEREAS the Local Public Agency has given due consideration to said
proposed Contract:
BE IT 1~ESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTO~`v, ILLINOIS,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The proposed Contract for General Neighborhood Renewal
Plan Project under Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended,
designated Contract No. I11. R-103 (GN) (A) consisting of Parts I and
II, under and sub3ect to the terms and conditions of which the Govern-
ment would make an advance of Federal funds to the Local Public Agency
to aid in financing the cost of certain surveys and plans designated
Project No. I11. R-103 (GN) (A), situated in the City of Canton, Illinois,
is hereby in all respects approved.
Section 2. The Mayor of the Local Public Agency is hereby
authorized and direct to execute said proposed Contract in two counter-
parts on behalf of the Local Public Agency, and the City Clerk is
hereby authorized and directed to impress and attest the official seal
of the Local Public Agency on each such counterpart and to forward such
counterparts to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for
execution on behalf of the Government, together with such other documents
relative to the approval and execution thereof as well as to this
Resolution as may be required by the Government.
Section 3. The Mayor of the Oity of Canton, Illinois is hereby
authorized to file requisitions, together with necessary supporting
documents, with the Government, from time to time as advance funds are
required, requesting payments to be made on account of the advance pro-
vided for in the said fontract, and to do and perform all other things
and acts required to be done or performed in order to obtain such
payments.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
Passed by the City Council at a regular meeting held the 5th day
of March A.D. 1968. ))~~~~
