RESOLUTION FOR IMPROVEMENT BY MUNICIPALITY
UNDER THE ILLINOIS HIGHWAY CODE
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois that an
improvement be made to the roadway of West Walnut Street, Arterial. Street
No. 8 from Avenue "D" to the west corporate limits, said improvement to be
designated as Motor Fuel Tax Section 61-CS, Canton Pavement and Bridge
Improvement No. 69-B.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
1.) That the proposed improvement shall consist of a Bituminous Concrete
Surface Course, Class I on a bituminous Aggregate mixture Base Course,
together with necessary combination curb and gutter, 36 feet face to
face, new drainage structure over Big Creek, necessary storm sewers,
drainage structures and appurtenances.
2.) That said improvement shall be made in accordance with the Illinois
Local Improvement Act.
3.) That said work is to be done by contract.
4.) That a certain portion of the cost of the proposed improvement will
be assessed against the City of Canton as public benefits and that
it is the intention of the City to pay such public benefit assessments
together with the interest thereon from the City~s allotments of
Motor Fuel Tax funds.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk is hereby directed to transmit two
certified copies of this resolution to the Department of Public Works and
Buildings, Division of Highways, through its District Engineer's Office at
Peoria, Illinois.
