A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DRAFTING OF A FEDERAL GRANT
APPLICATION BY VANDEWALLE & ASSOCIATES, FOR SUBMITTAL BY
THE CITY OF CANTON AND, IF AWARDED THE SUBSEQUENT
APPROPRIATION OF CITY OF CANTON FUNDS FOR A BROWNFIELDS
ASSESSMENT, REVOLVING LOAN FUND, AND CLEANUP GRANTS
WHEREAS, the City of Canton recognizes that the remediation and
redevelopment of brownfields is an important part of protecting Illinois' resources; and,
WHEREAS, in this action the City of Canton has declared its intent to complete
the brownfields assessment, revolving loan fund, and clean up activities described in the
application if awarded funds; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton will maintain records documenting all
expenditures made during the Brownfields Assessment, Revolving Loan Fund, and
Cleanup Grant period; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton will submit quarterly reports to the Agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. The City of Canton requests funds and assistance available from the
United States Environmental Protection Agency under the Brownfields
Assessment, Revolving Loan Fund, and Clean Up Program and will
comply with federal rules for the program.
2. The City hereby authorizes the representative of Vandewalle & Associates
to act on the behalf of the City to: submit an application to the United
States for financial aid for Brownfields Assessment, Revolving Loan
Fund, and Cleanup purposes, sign documents, and take necessary action to
undertake, direct, and complete approved grant activities.
3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by the City council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
and approval by the Mayor thereof
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a
regular meeting this 4th day of November , 2003 upon a roll call vote.
AYES: Aldermen. Reed, Fillin~am., Carl, Harn, Sarff , West, Ilart-
ford.
NAYS: None .
