RESOLUTION N0. r~l~'
WHEREAS, Pryce Preece was duly elected Aldera~.an by the
citizens of the City of Canton, Illinois and in that capacity has
served them well and honorably; and,
WHEREAS, for personal reasons beyond his control, Pryce
Preece has been forced to resign as Alderman prior to the expiration
of the term for which he was elected; and,
WHEREAS, proper decorum and respect for individuals who
have served this City in a representative capacity sometimes
requires special manifestation of appreciation,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it, and it hereby is, RESOLVED by
Council of the City of Canton, Illinois as follows ~
1. That the appreciation of the City of Canton, Illinois
for the services of Pryce Preece as Alderman and his value in such
capacity is hereby declared and by means hereof manifested for
preservation in the records and annals of this City.
2. That a duplicate original copy hereof, signed by the
Mayor and attested by the City Cler3~ and, further, signed by such
of the Aldermen of this City as may be, shall be delivered to
Pryce Preece so that he and his loved ones may have tangible
proof of the gratitude herein expressed.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
and signed and approved by the Mayor this 3rd day of March, A.D.
1970.
