RESOLUTION ~ Sa o~
WHEREAS, the City. of Canton, hereinafter called the CITX, entered into
an agreement on June 18, 1968, with Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc., Consul-
ting Engineers, hereinafter called the ENGINEERS, whereby the ENGINEERS
agreed to provide preliminary studies and a report with recouunendations for
improvements to the sewage treatment and sewer facilities which .would meet
the water quality standards for the receiving stream required by the Illinois
Sanitary Water Board; and
WHEREAS, the preliminary studies and recommendations have now been_com-
pleted and are presented in report form to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid agreement, dated June 18, 1968, also provided
that the ENGINEERS .would .furnish, when requested by the CITY, the contract
drawings, specifications, and all other necessary engineering services to
permit the CITY to construct the required facilities by contract..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the CITY does request and authorize
the ENGINEERS to proceed with the preparation of .plans and working drawings
for the recommended. improvements to the sewerage system, in accordance with
the provisions of the agreement, dated June 18, 1968, so that they may be
constructed and in operation at the earliest possible date.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That any .questions of procedure or scope of
project be cleared by the ENGINEERS through the Mayor of the CITY, and that
his decisions concerning procedures and scope of project will be binding on
the CITY.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That one copy of this Resolution be sent to the
ENGINEERS.

Dear Mayor Jennings:
Enclosed is a resolution for Council consideration
which would authorize. us to proceed with plans for
sewer system improvements to satisfy the Illinois
Sanitary Water Board's stream quality standards.
Note-that we have suggested you as the City authority
with whom procedural matters and scope of work would
be cleared. We realize that you may wish to include
one or more committees of the Council and possibly
City staff deliberations before making some decisions,
but thought that could be handled by you administra-
tively as matters arise.
