RESOLUTION ,~` c~~S
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois, acting through its Department of Public Works and
Buildings, Division of Highways, hereinafter called the STATE and the City of Canton,
a municipal corporation, hereinafter called the CITY propose jointly to improve the
intersection of Main and Locust Streets (State Bond Issue Routes 78 6 9) Section 13S•Z•I
hereinafter called the IMPROVEMENT, and
WHEREAS, the It~iPROVIMENT will consist of widening Locust Street for approximately
1400 feet, through and across Main Street, providing four through traffic lanes and two
left turn lanes for traffic turning on to Main Street; widening Maia Street between Ash
and Locust Streets, providing for four through traffic lanes as far south as Main Street,
a left turn lane to East Locust Street, medians, channelization of the intersection,
storm sewers, approximately 3 inches of Bituminous Concrete Binder and Surface Courses,
Subclass I.11, State of Illinois Specifications, together with other items on the plans.

WHEREAS, it is necessary for the CITY to accept and approve the plans and specifi-
cations for the IMPROVEMENT,
NOW THEREFORE BB IT RESOLVID that the CI1R acting through its City Council hereby
accepts and :pprovas the plans and specifications, said specifications being the Staadasd
Specifications for Road sad Bridge Construction adopted August 1, 1968, for the
IMPROVEMENT, and
BB IT 1RTRTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit the
original certified resolution and one certified copy of this resolution to the Departs
meat of Public Works and Buildings, Division of Highways, through the District &igiaeer's
Office at Peoria, Illinois.
