R E S O L U T 1 0 N
WHEREAS, it appears to the best interests of the City of Canton,
Illinois, that certain switch facilities be installed by the TP&W Railroad
and the BN Railroad on Railroad Street and Fourth Avenue in the City of
Canton, Illinois; and,
WHEREAS, hearings and lans have been held and submitted by said
Railroad Companies therefor ;
NOW, THEREFOP,E, BE IT, AND IT HEREBY IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS that the TP&W Railroad Company and the BN
Railroad Company be, and they hereby are, permitted to install tracks
for purposes of switching on the streets above mentioned and in conformity
with the plans mentioned above.
BE IT, AND IT HEREBY IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution
has been induced by representation of said Railroad Companies that the
track. on these streets will be used for switching purposes only and will
not block the flow of traffic beyond that necessitated by actual switching
operations,
BE IT, AND IT HEREBY IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that nothing herein
contained shall be interpreted to prevent the use of travel over, along
and upon the streets above mentioned by any other form of traffic.
PASSED by the City Council and approved by the Mayor this
day of January, A.D, 1971.
