HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution #591RESOLUTION~~`~~ WHEREAS, the Eity of Canton, Illinois holds an option to acquire the following described realty, to-wit: A part of the Northeast Quarter of Section 15, Township 7 North, Range 4 East of the Fourth Principal Meridian, Fulton County, Illinois, more particularly described as follows: From an iron pin at the Northeast corner of said Section 15, running thence West 93.00 feet; thence South 1°20'58" West 1332.39 feet to a con- crete monument, being the point of beginning; thence North 89°59'44" West 726.00 feet along an existing fence line to a point; thence North 1°20'58" East 360.00 feet to a point; thence South 89°59'44" East 726.00 feet; thence South 1°20'58" West 360.00 feet to the point of begin- ning; containing 6.000 acres, more or less, from the owners thereof for the purpose of reconveyance to appropriate Federal authorities for the sole purpose of constructing thereon a United States Army Reserve Center; and, WHEREAS, said option must be exercised on or before October 1, 1973; and, WHEREAS, the exercise of said option, by its terms, must be accompanied by a commitment, in writing, by said City to construct an all-weather road and to install sewer and water lines, all at the expense of said City, to and Beyond said realty; and, WHEREAS, said Federal authorities now desire a commitment of said City to make appropriate conveyance of said realty to them for said purpose, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT, AND IT HEREBY IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: Contingent upon timely and appropriate manif estation to the City of Canton, Illinois by proper Federal authorities, that said realty is desired and will be utilized by them for the purpose above set forth, said City will thereupon and forthwith exercise said option and make conveyance of said realty as directed by said Federal authorities to the appropriate Federal agency. FURTHER, AND IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, at the time of its exercise of said option, said City shall make its commitment in writing to construct an all-weather road and to install sewer and water lines, all at the expense of said City, to and beyond said realty, as in said option contemplated, an d t o make such facilities timely available to said realty for utilization thereof for the purpose above set forth.
